Hustle! When you read this word, you may hear a number of different tones of it in your head.
As a kid - your Mom telling you to hsutle, we have to get moving.
As a teen - the tone may seem a little sharper and your resistance a little stronger.
In sports - you knew you needed to learn to hustle or be left behind.
As an Adult - hustle is all around us and if we stop long enough to consider it, we may discover we have developed FOMO - the fear of missing out and yet the pace is killing us and we become who we were never intended to be. Drained, fatigued, grumpy - oh you know.....
Knwoing what you value most in life and living by your values with authenticity is a key to moving beyond the Hustle Culture to true meaning in life.
What is the Term 'Hustle Culture' all about?
What is Hustle Culture?'
"Hustle Culture is a push to work hard to get ahead by any means necessary, often at the exspense of self care and the employee's mental and physical well being. In the Hustle Culture overworking is glamorized and seen as a badge of honour. " January 22, 2025 Workhuman.
I believe that huslte culture spills over into what would also be 'our time' perhaps our leisure and keeps us running on high octane adrenaline.
Jesus had a better way:
Matthew 11:28 - 29 New Living Translation (NLT)
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
The value of rest, reflection, renewal - You need them, I need them if we are to truly live the life we were created for.
When do you want to get off the treadmill of huslte?
